Whilst I am, essentially, a painter of portraits my love of wide open spaces, the moors, mountains and sea shore bring out an urgency in me to paint my emotional responses to being there and experiencing the whoosh and hiss of the wind, the warmth of the sun and being wrapped in the silence and space of these wonderful places with only the call of the buzzard to keep me in touch with the world.
